Maintaining row spacing of 45–50 cm improves aeration, weed control, and uniform plant growth.

3. Nutrition and Irrigation Management

Soybean requires nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Treating seeds with Rhizobium japonicum before planting significantly enhances biological nitrogen fixation and boosts yield.
Regular irrigation is crucial, especially during flowering and pod-filling stages. Drip or sprinkler irrigation systems help conserve water while ensuring uniform plant development and better grain quality.

5. Harvesting and Storage

The ideal harvest time is when 80–90% of pods have turned brown and seeds are firm. Delayed harvesting increases seed shattering and reduces oil quality.
Harvesting is performed using soybean-specific combines, preferably early in the morning or during cooler hours to minimize seed breakage.
Post-harvest drying to approximately 12% moisture is essential for proper storage and processing.
